Awards

I don’t have much time at the moment, giving that I’m frantically working on a paper that I want to complete by Monday… so I’ll just hand out some brief awards.  The category here is “search terms people have made that have landed them on my blog”…. and now for the awards…

Most noble internet research:

“ritual cleansing bath roman”

Most interesting internet research:

“theologians’ views on sexual immorality in the church”

Search that would have resulted in the greatest disappointment upon arriving at my blog:

“anthony thiselton death”  [Hey, I'm glad to have disappointed 'em!]

Search that has most tried to butter me up:

“matthew son of thiselton”

And finally (drumroll, please)….. stupidest web search that has landed on my site:

“zen hippie welshman makes quality coffee”

All these people have won themselves free coffees, claimable at the University of Nottingham any time.

  1. 2 coffees please (but I’ll leave it to you to guess which searches were mine!) I’ve heard rumours about some crazy things called ‘bookmarks’, but random google searches to get to your blog are far more fun.

  2. you think thiselton is my dad? You crazy zen hippy you!!!

  3. Actually, this gives me an idea: I’m going to do ridiculous google searches to land on three blogs of people who may occasion this humble site of mine… if you find that a ridiculous google search has brought someone to your blog within the next day or so, report back here… I’m curious to see if this’ll work

  4. So the “new’s of [his] death [were] greatly exaggerated”. See you in front of the Portland building tomorrow for my coffee … OK so it wasn’t actually me:-)

  5. Wow… awareness of nottingham university landmarks… curiouser and curiouser

  6. we probably walk past each other without knowing. Except that I work at home and hardly go up there now.

  7. Had any more good searches for your blog recently?

  8. ahhh so YOU did the bizarre jet li search… unfortunately it’s gone out of the list now, so I can’t recall it exactly… I was also intrigued by the person who got to me by searching for “bimbo bread images” – I hope I didn’t disappoint…

  9. Yep. “Big fat cigar with Jet Li $120″ is a good way to find your blog. Can’t claim “bimbo bread images” though – pretty sure they would have found what they were looking for.

  10. Where does the “bimbo” part fit in? Is that an intellectually, theologically correct term???

  11. yup… a vacant-brained girl is a bimbo and a vacant-brained boy is a himbo… these are important theological terms.

  12. So give me a Biblical example of each…..
