  1. Yeah Maurice has just told me – thank God I’m here basking in the sea with 35 degrees. I hated that snow. Sludge, filth and freeze, sliding down the footpath trying to carry supermarket shopping. Blinking miserable stuff Nottingham in the snow. Next year when I’m back there, I’ll be coming home for February.

  2. Dont’t let Steph kill your buzz! ;-)

I hear ya – it’s so humid here that a great pile of snow to lie in sounds heavenly. I’d even take the sludge, filth and freeze that seems to be the way in Nottingham. ANYTHING over sweating 24/7.

  3. Are you not by the sea Carolyn?!! Heat is bliss – long swims in the sea. Nottingham in the snow is HORRID!!! It’s not like travelling up to the mountain tops for a spot of skiing in the Antipodean winters. It’s about train delays, wet bus stops and damp houses. And VERY short days and S.A.D. The littlies love the snow though. I love the sun.

  4. I do miss a proper beach-worthy summer, complete with burning steering wheels, spur-of-the-minute bbqs, and tiptoeing across the sand…

But last night I made a SNOWMAN!!!!!!!!! A real live snowman!!!!! I guess the sludge phase will kick in soon, but at the moment, everything is covered in white, with no one around outside, except the odd over-excited Australian or cranky New Zealander hehehe… just joking… hey speaking of things Kiwi, Steph have you seen the movie “Eagle vs Shark”? We watched it the other night and really enjoyed it – especially since it stars Jermaine, of “Flight of the Concords” fame

  5. Before I moved to notts James warned me it rained alot. I said “I don’t mind rain” not really knowing what rain was especially on flat undrainable surfaces… I got there and it did nothing but rain (except on Janet’s wedding anniversary) until it snowed. I hibernated – got pretty cranky too. ;-)

But no – Jermaine from FOTC?!! I haven’t even heard of the movie – how out of touch is that? And I haven’t got a DVD either… I’ll have to google to see what it’s about.

  6. Ah I do remember hearing about it. I didn’t see it – I was in England when it was released. Joel Tobek is in it too – I used to work with him at the Mercury Theatre in Auckland. I wanna see it. It’s my kind of movie.

  7. wow, so pretty. Enjoy!

  8. You are getting snow, and over here in Australia its been a devastating weekend, with bushfires killing over 80 people and gutting entire towns…. and still the fires burn. Its surely a time of extremes in the weather right now.

  9. Yeah just been reading about it – worse than ash wednesday!
