According to Western Australia’s Baptist Advocate, a recent survey conducted by the Centre for Public Christianity found that 31% of Australians believe that Jesus lived “BC”.
Did I mention that I’m of Scottish stock? And there’s a bit of German in there too… And I’m living in the UK… And I can do a mean Mexican accent…

Well, it is generally held that Jesus was born in or before 4 BC. So I suppose that 31% are partly right. What alternative were they offered? Just a choice between BC or AD? Both are partly wrong.
I’d love to hear you speaking German Herr Malcolm!
Even if Dionysis Exiguus had been correct on the year of Jesus’s birth, year 1 A.D. begins at the first new year’s day after his birth.
The only stoopid person was the person who made up the stoopid question – probably a Jesus myther or a Texan creationist. Given the stoopid nature of the question, if offered only two choices, a third of Australians (who are all Scottish, German and Mexican convicts by the way) went for the theory that Jesus was born around 4BC and the rest just based their answer on the logic of BC being before the year of his birth without necessarily pretending that we know he actually was bron in 1CE or AD or whatever you blinking well wnant to call it, for sure… Of course if you had asked us such a stoopid question we would have told you to get off the gtrass.
ahh this is a good point – I don’t know how the question was worded. Und ich kann nur ein bisschen Deutsch sprechen. And I wish I was one of those cool Australians of Mexican convict stock… you can always tell em, by their penchant for tequila and senoritas.
