Signing up new students

I spent today signing up new students for theology modules.  One of the most disconcertingly frequent comments of the day was, “Oh this one will do – I don’t really care – just sign me up for whatever fits my timetable”….

Theologians of tomorrow, I salute you!

  1. Hang on… you were doing Third-Year modules, which have no timetable clashes with each other at all, and students are unlikely to be doing subsidiary modules in other departments. So what people meant by “whatever fits my timetable” was really “whatever doesn’t have 9am lectures and leaves me with a three day weekend”.

  2. To be honest, when I was doing a degree at uni, I managed to pack everything into two 9am-9pm days, and have a 5-day weekend. Sweet!
