I just went to the local Christian bookstore for the first time in about 4 years. It was both exciting and scary. Scary because of what was in the “recommended reading” section – exclusively TD Jakes and Creflo Dollar!! Exciting because I bought some stuff, including James P. Ware’s Synopsis of the Pauline Letters in Greek and English. I’m really impressed with it – a helpful synopsis of Pauline texts on a series of well-chosen topics, including “greetings”; “bishops, elders, and deacons”; “household codes”; and many others. Anyway, I was all set to give a little review of it when I noticed that Nick and Matthew had already beaten me to it. Oh well. Go look there. I don’t care. Fine with me. Just don’t come back here begging for a review of another book, because I’ve learnt my lesson.
