Why is it that almost every time I catch a plane something goes wrong and flights end up getting cancelled?? First it was that infernal Icelandic volcano that caused my flight to Thessaloniki to be cancelled – you can read my brief reflections on that sorry incident here. Then it was the snow in Heathrow that caused my flight home from London to be cancelled, and I only just made it back for Christmas – you can read a little about that sorry saga here. And now I’m stuck in Sydney with a new volcanic ash cloud, and it looks like I won’t be able to get a replacement flight for a few days – thanks for nothing Chilean volcano!
The funny thing… well, actually there are two funny things:
1) I forgot to bring toothpaste with me, so this morning I just used liquid soap. I highly recommend NOT doing this. urghhh I’ve been tasting bubbles all day.
2) When I went to London I decided not to bring my phone charger – why would I need it? It was just a short trip. But then my flight home was cancelled and this turned out to be a major problem. So anyway, when I was packing for Sydney yesterday, I decided not to bring my phone charger – why would I need it? It’s just an overnight stay in Sydney… sigh… will I ever learn?
So I’m going to have to go to the shops and buy some clothes and toothpaste. Not tonight though. I don’t walk the streets of Sydney at night. You can read an allusion to that sorry saga here.
