Here is a picture that my 6yo daughter Cara drew yesterday. It features the Roman Emperor Caracalla (Emperor 211 – 217 CE):
I think Cara drew the long fingernails as a symbol of his cruelty. And we could further speculate that the reason one of his sandals is inexplicably in the tree is to symbolise the inexplicable absurdity of his reign: positively, he introduced universal citizenship; negatively, he murdered thousands of his own supporters. The bird flying ahead is perhaps a portent of his doom, and, beyond that, the inevitable doom of all Empires like his.
Either that or she just wanted to draw him because his name sounds like hers.
